Know What You Are Looking At
Tweezing pulls the whole hair out from the root, and the skin treats that as a small injury. Once in a while, it heals without a trace. Done repeatedly on the same follicles for years, it can leave several different problems behind, and each one responds to a different treatment.
When skin is irritated over and over, it can respond by producing extra pigment. That is what most dark spots from tweezing are: flat brown or grayish marks sitting right where the hairs grow. They are more common and often longer lasting on medium and deeper skin tones, and sun exposure makes them darker.
A hair that snaps during tweezing, or grows back into the skin instead of out of it, can leave a small red or dark bump. Years of pulling, picking and ingrown hairs can leave the skin rough, bumpy or lightly pitted. This is a texture problem rather than a color problem, which is why brightening products alone rarely change how it looks.
Tweezing removes the hair, but it leaves the follicle able to grow another one. As long as that follicle keeps producing hair, you will keep reaching for the tweezers, and the skin over it will keep reacting. Our Treatments
Two treatments stop the hair that keeps you tweezing. Two more repair the skin it has marked. Most clients need a combination, in this order.
For suitable hair and skin types, laser hair removal reduces the unwanted hair that keeps you tweezing and keeps your skin inflamed.
The laser sends energy into the pigment in the hair, the heat travels down to the follicle, and over a course of sessions that follicle produces fewer, finer hairs. Fewer hairs means fewer reasons to pluck, and that alone gives irritated skin a chance to recover.

A peel works on the top layers of the skin. The solution loosens the bonds holding dead, pigmented cells in place, so your skin sheds them faster and brings fresher skin up from underneath. Superficial peels use acids such as glycolic, lactic, salicylic or mandelic, and we choose the type and strength at your appointment based on your skin and what it has tolerated before.
For flat dark spots left by tweezing, peels usually do most of the fading work. For the first two or three days, your skin may look slightly darker and feel tight before it starts to flake. That flaking is the peel working, and picking at it is how new dark marks start.
One peel rarely makes a dramatic difference, but a series usually does.

Where It Happens
Dark spots from tweezing show up wherever hair has been plucked regularly for years. The chin and upper lip are the most common, but they are far from the only places.
Before You Book
This is the hardest part for most of our tweezing clients, and it is also the most important. Both laser and electrolysis need the hair in the follicle to work.
Avoid plucking, waxing and electrolysis on the area for about six weeks before each laser session, because the laser needs the hair’s root in the follicle to reach it. If the hairs bother you in the meantime, shaving or trimming is fine.
Let the hairs grow out so they are visible above the skin. We cannot treat a follicle we cannot see, and a freshly plucked follicle has nothing in it for us to follow. At your consultation, we will tell you how much growth we need for your appointment.
Give the skin a break. Stop picking at bumps and digging out ingrown hairs, and keep the area out of the sun. The calmer the skin is when we start, the better it responds.

If you have never been treated at our clinic, a consultation comes before your first appointment. You leave it with a plan and a timeline.
We look at the dark spots, bumps and texture, the hair causing them, and your skin type. We ask how long you have been tweezing, how often, and what you have already tried.
Before a full laser treatment, we test a small area to see how your skin and hair respond. It is free, and it tells us more than any amount of conversation.
Laser takes just a few minutes for a small area like the chin or upper lip. Electrolysis is booked by time. Peels and microneedling follow once the skin has settled.
We go through aftercare with you before you leave, including what to avoid, what is normal, and when to book your next session.
Between Sessions
Dark spots get darker in the sun, and freshly treated skin is more sensitive to it. Daily broad spectrum SPF 30 or higher on any treated area is the single most useful thing you can do between visits.
We send you home with specific product guidance for whichever treatment you had.
Realistic Expectations
Hair grows in cycles, and the laser can only reach hairs in their active growth stage, so laser sessions are spaced roughly six to eight weeks apart. Most people need a course rather than a single visit.
Electrolysis is permanent per follicle. Sessions get shorter as the area clears, and once a follicle is done, it is done.
Dark spots fade gradually. Peels work best as a series, and pigmentation that took years of tweezing to build up usually takes months to clear.

None of these are permanent, and all of them are worth mentioning at your consultation, since they can change which treatment we recommend and when.

Pricing depends on which treatments you need and how large the area is, so we give you an exact quote at your consultation. The laser consultation, examination and test patch are free. A $25 deposit holds your appointment and is applied to your treatment.
Electrolysis is billed by time, not by body part, with sessions starting at $60 for fifteen minutes. For skin treatments, numbing cream, sterile single-use cartridges and post-treatment product are included in the session price.
We book through Vagaro, which offers Buy Now, Pay Later through Affirm, so you can spread the cost of a treatment plan over monthly payments. Applying takes a couple of minutes and does not affect your credit score, and the rates and terms come from Affirm rather than from us.
