Electrolysis Before
And After
Before and after photos are the most honest testimonial electrolysis has. Every image below is a client of our clinic, treated with 100% permanent electrolysis hair removal. Scroll through and see what the finished result actually looks like.
Large volume treatments
Results like these take hours. We make those hours bearable.
Six ways to manage the discomfort, from a cream that quiets the surface to sleeping through the whole appointment. This is what makes four-hour sessions possible, and it is why clients fly into Chicago to have the work done here.
Prescription numbing cream
Applied to the area roughly half an hour before we start, so the surface has already gone quiet by the time you are in the chair. Plenty of clients get through an entire treatment plan on this alone, and it layers underneath every other option here.
Lidocaine injections
Numbs deeper than cream can reach. Dosed by weight and given by a board-certified nurse practitioner, it takes hold within minutes. This is what makes bikini and genital work genuinely tolerable while you are awake.
ProNox nitrous oxide
You hold the mask and breathe it in whenever you want it. The calm arrives in seconds and clears the moment you stop, so you can drive yourself home. Several clients have told us ProNox is the one thing that made four-hour sessions possible for them.
Oral conscious sedation
Medication taken before your appointment, with no IV needed for the sedation itself. You stay awake and able to talk to us while feeling a long way from tense, and some clients rest through most of a session. Combined with cream, lidocaine and ProNox as the Complete Comfort Protocol.
IV twilight sedation
Sedation through an IV, given by the anesthesia professional, with lidocaine numbing the treatment area itself. You may drift in and out of sleep and remember little of parts of the day. More than one dose can be given during treatment when it is medically appropriate.
General anesthesia
Asleep for the whole planned treatment, started through an inhaled mask rather than an IV. No numbing injections are used, which takes the needles, the bruising and the swelling out of the day entirely. Requires medical screening, anesthesia clearance and a responsible adult to take you home.
Nobody gives you medication and then leaves the building. Whichever level you choose, the licensed practitioner responsible for it stays at the clinic with you for the entire session, monitors you throughout, re-doses when it is appropriate, and sees you through recovery and discharge.

How electrolysis worksIn their words
What the photos do not show
I still have some sessions to go, but I have already come so far from where I started. It is so nice to wake up and not have to think about shaving or plucking.
I have seen my facial hair slowly disappear and I only have a few more treatments left before it is all gone.
I have made so much progress on stopping unwanted hair growth on my face, and have regained so much lost confidence.

Questions we are asked before the first session
What is normal after a good treatment?
- Redness on the treated area.
- Light swelling of treated tissue.
- Treatment can occasionally activate herpes (cold sores).
- Isolated follicle secretion may occur after the treatment.
- A warm sensation or prickly feeling, depending on the treated area.
Reactions such as redness, swelling or tiny scab formation should be viewed as the actions of healthy skin repairing itself as fast as possible. The degree to which these reactions occur differs greatly between individual clients, because all people heal differently. Following post-care instructions will help to minimize these after effects.
The eyebrow area can be prone to bruising due to the presence of tiny blood vessels close to the surface of the skin. Although the treated area will likely appear to return to normal within a short period of time, full healing of the skin can take 18 months or more.
Can women begin or have electrolysis treatments during pregnancy?
Unwanted hair can be caused by hormonal changes brought on by pregnancy. Electrolysis can be performed on any normal skin, and that includes pregnant women. We suggest that you seek the advice of your physician before beginning treatment.
Can hairs be removed from moles?
Electrolysis can be performed on most moles where licensing regulations allow it. Your electrologist may require written approval from your physician.
Does shaving make more hair grow?
No, it does not. It is a myth that has been around for a very long time. Your hair cycles stay the same, and in fact, when we begin electrolysis on a shaved area your hairs die faster than if you had previously done anything else such as waxing, threading, laser or tweezing.
Areas of your face and body that have been shaved require less time for the electrolysis treatment. If you shave before and during the electrolysis process, the hairs will die faster.
