Where Every Plan Starts

A Consultation, A Test Patch, Then A Plan

Our licensed laser technicians customize a laser hair removal program that gives you the safest and most effective results possible, rather than a generic package sold before anyone has looked at your skin.

During your consultation we talk about the look you want and how much hair you would like to remove. We then evaluate your skin and its response with a complimentary test patch, and use that result to build the treatment plan that gets you to your goal.

Also On This Laser

Pigmentation Treatments, Same Machine

We treat pigmentation on the same Candela GentleMax Pro Plus we use for hair. Candela lists benign pigmented lesions among the cleared indications for the Gentle Pro Series, along with diffuse redness and facial vessels, spider and leg veins, angiomas and hemangiomas, venous lake, port wine stains and wrinkles.

What We Treat

Sun Spots And Age Spots

The brown marks that show up after enough summers: sun spots, age spots, freckles and the patchy tone that comes with them. Face, chest, backs of the hands and forearms are the areas people ask about most, because those are the ones that never get covered up.

Benign Pigmented Lesions

Why It Works

The Laser Chases Melanin

Hair removal and pigment removal run on the same principle. The 755 nm Alexandrite wavelength is absorbed by melanin, so it finds the pigment and heats it. In hair removal that pigment sits deep in the follicle. In a sun spot it sits near the surface, where the mark breaks up and your skin clears it over the following week or two.

755 nm Alexandrite · 1064 nm Nd:YAG

Comfort

Cooled The Same Way

The patented Dynamic Cooling Device™ works the same on a pigment pass as it does on a hair pass, so the skin surface is protected at the moment of each pulse. A small area can be done in a few minutes. Expect the spot to darken first and then lift as the skin renews, which is normal and temporary.

Dynamic Cooling Device™

Pigmentation is assessed the same way hair is. Consultation first, test patch second, then a plan and a price. Not every brown mark is a sun spot, so if a lesion looks irregular or you have noticed it change, we will send you to a dermatologist before anything goes near it. We will also say so plainly if you are not a good candidate.

What To Expect

How A Treatment Actually Goes

A treatment can take as little as a few minutes or as long as an hour, depending on the area. Both legs can often be treated in as few as fifteen minutes, and so can an average-sized man’s back.

01

Before

Prepare Your Skin

For about six weeks before treatment, avoid plucking, electrolysis and waxing. On the day, arrive clean-shaven with skin thoroughly cleansed of makeup, creams, oils, topical anesthetics and self-tanning products, and apply SPF 30 or above. Keep the area out of sunlight and tanning booths before and immediately after.

No Sun · No Wax · Clean Shaven

02

During

In The Treatment Room

Your practitioner uses a small handpiece to deliver an intense but gentle burst of energy onto the targeted area. Some clients feel a brief snap, often compared to a rubber band against the skin. It passes quickly and is minimized by the patented Dynamic Cooling Device™ built into the laser.

Minutes To An Hour

03

After

Aftercare That Matters

A cool compress or gel pack can be applied for extra comfort, and any redness or swelling normally settles within a few hours. Keep sun exposure off the area with SPF 30 or above, and for the first few days don’t scrub or rinse treated skin with abrasive cleansers.

Redness Settles In Hours

Why A Course, Not A Single Visit

Hair Grows In Cycles, So We Treat In Cycles

The hairs on your body are never all at the same stage at the same time. Multiple treatments spaced roughly six to eight weeks apart are what catch every follicle while it is in the growth stage, which is the only point at which the laser can do its work.

Interval

6 To 8 Weeks Apart

Sessions are spaced so each one lands on a fresh wave of hair entering the growth stage.

Skin Tone

Darker Tones Welcome

Many laser treatments don’t cater to all skin types. The GentleMax Pro Plus platform gives us a setting that is right for you whatever your skin tone.

Comfort

Cooled At Every Pulse

The patented Dynamic Cooling Device™ protects the skin surface at the moment of each pulse, keeping treatment comfortable.

Side Effects

Rare And Short-Lived

Redness, swelling, pigment change, blistering or purpura are uncommon and usually resolve within a few days. Your practitioner will go through them with you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Laser Hair Removal, Answered

What can I expect during laser hair removal treatment?

Treatments take place in your practitioner’s office. Your practitioner uses a small handpiece to deliver an intense but gentle burst of energy onto targeted areas of the skin to remove unwanted hair.

Can gentle hair removal be done on darker skin tones?

Yes. Many laser hair removal treatments don’t cater to all skin types, but there is a Gentle Hair Removal treatment that is right for you no matter what your skin tone. Ask your practitioner which Gentle treatment matches your skin type.

How long does a treatment take?

A treatment can take as little as a few minutes or as long as an hour, depending on the treatment area and the condition being treated. Both legs can often be treated in as few as fifteen minutes, as can an average-sized man’s back.

Is gentle laser hair removal painful?

Some clients feel slight discomfort, often compared to snapping a rubber band against the skin. It resolves quickly and is minimized by our patented Dynamic Cooling Device™. Talk it over with your practitioner before you begin.

How many treatments will I need?

Multiple treatments are required to achieve the full hair removal effect. The hairs on your body are not always at the same stage, so you will need a few treatments, an average of six to eight weeks apart, to catch them all in the growth stage.

Are these treatments covered by insurance?

Most insurance companies do not offer reimbursement for cosmetic procedures. Consult your insurance carrier for conclusive information.

How do I prepare for a treatment?

For about six weeks prior to treatment, avoid plucking, electrolysis and waxing. On the day of your treatment, skin should be clean-shaven and thoroughly cleansed of any makeup, creams, oils, topical anesthetics or self-tanning products. Apply sunblock of SPF 30 or above before your treatment.

Do not expose the treatment area to sunlight or tanning booth light before or immediately after treatment. If you have a history of herpes simplex virus, a prophylactic antiviral therapy may be prescribed.

What can I expect after treatment?

A cool compress or gel pack may be applied for additional comfort after your treatment. Any redness or swelling should resolve in a few hours.

What precautions should I take after treatment?

After your laser treatment, prevent sun exposure by applying sunblock of SPF 30 or above. In the first few days after treatment, don’t scrub or rinse the treated areas with abrasive skin cleansers. Your practitioner may advise additional precautions.

Are there side effects?

Permanent side effects are rare. Possible effects include redness, swelling, hyperpigmentation, hypopigmentation, blistering and purpura, or laser bruise, in the treated area, and these usually do not last more than a few days. Your practitioner will have more information about potential side effects.

Can the same laser treat sun spots and pigmentation?

Yes. Benign pigmented lesions are one of the cleared indications for the Gentle Pro Series, which is the family the GentleMax Pro Plus belongs to, so sun spots, age spots and freckles can be treated on the same device your hair removal is done on. Raise it at your consultation and we will patch test the area before we treat it.

Do you treat men and transgender clients?

Yes. Our services are tailored to a wide range of laser hair removal for men and for transgender clients, including facial, body and pre-surgical work. Every procedure is performed by an authorized practitioner.
